The long wait is over – the brand new Kroger store is opening in Roseville this weekend. The new larger location brings with it a lot of extended offers compared to the other Kroger stores in the area. While the new location isn’t considered a Kroger Marketplace, shoppers will have Marketplace offerings including furniture, a large cookware section and updated pharmacy – but that’s not all the new store offers shoppers. I was given a sneak peak of the new location that opens on Sunday, and got to check out the amazing new location.
While it seems like common sense, the new store’s focus is on the customer’s experience. The features large clean aisles, a bistro that makes to fresh to go sandwiches, quesadillas and even caters to gluten free guests, a deli counter featuring Boar’s Head products, a custom Sushi bar and even a cheese bar. From slice your own bread machines, a huge natural product area, and extended product lines – the store is something the East Side has needed for a long time. Be on the look out for a larger focus on Michigan made products, micro-brews and even a wine selection that puts wine stores to shame.
Throughout the new store you’ll find a larger selection of items than a traditional store has, but also professionals to help you make the right selection. The wine and beer section has their own tasting specialist who will help you choose the right wine for your meal or special occasion. They will also have wine tastings every weekend scheduled throughout the year so you can expand your wine tasting. If you’re on a tighter time schedule, you can grab your favorite and go, or even check out the build your own micro-brew box.
Having professionals on hand to help shoppers doesn’t only apply to drinks. The cheese counter not only has a larger selection of domestic and imported cheese, but it also has one of five Cheese Experts in the state of Michigan to help out their customers. Jimme Mares is a certified cheese expert and can help you pair the perfect cheese with your wine, meal, chocolate or even suggest the best way to create appetizers for a party. He’ll help you expand your knowledge and taste of cheese.
Kroger‘s commitment to Michigan can be seen throughout the store with local produce and products, but extends past that by helping the community. Kroger not only helps with the local Gleaner’s Food Bank and Milk Pour it Forward Campaign, but also has committed to provide fresh water to the residents in Flint to help with the current water crisis.
