Let’s face it – we’re a mobile society. We’re always on the go, and we’re always staying connected with friends and family. But while we’re driving we should always be focused on the road so we can be safe for our families as well as the others on the road. For years I’ve had Bluetooth ear buds so I could drive and stay connected. I’ve tried several brands over the years but I’ve always ended up going back to Jabra since they are (in my opinion) the most comfortable ear pieces and have the best sound quality.
Now, the years have gone by and I’ve gone through several different ear buds. I break them, I lose them.. more often than not I lose them. But newer cars have the speaker systems with Bluetooth integrated. My sister’s car has this, and I’ll be honest I’m a little jealous. My car is just a couple years older but it’s not cool enough to have that feature.
But you can always grab a Jabra Freeway and make your car completely hands free! The Freeway is a Bluetooth Speaker system that can be used with your phone or digital media devices that are Blue Tooth capable (my tablet currently is). And from pairing your devices to using them with it, it’s extremely easy to do.
The Freeway has an on and off switch, so you can turn it off if you don’t want to run the battery down while you’re not in the car. When you turn it on the first time it will automatically instruct you on how to pair it with your device. You can have multiple devices paired with it so multiple drivers can take advantage of it.
What’s great about the Freeway? You can give it verbal commands and it understands! You can also put your GPS directions through it, or turn it into an FM tuner so it can use your car speakers so you can hear better.
There were only two things that were sort of bad about the Freeway: The unit clips onto your visor, due to my visor layout it blocked the use of my mirror, so I had to slide mine over to the side. This doesn’t effect the use of the Freeway, but it can’t be central on my car. Also, it does pick up road noise while talking – if say your car is louder or your windows are open. This is something I’ve had problems with in the past with other ear buds, and might be less of an issue for some people.
Overall I really like the Freeway! It’s very easy to use, and I like being able to talk and not have a headset on while driving. It provides a lot of flexibility so it’s more than just a blue tooth speaker. I think this is going to be very useful for future road trips, or just a day out shopping!
