Disney’s Pixar has been known to make tear jerking films, and their latest Inside Out is no exception to that rule. And today, you can own Inside Out on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD to add to your collection. But make sure you have a few tissues on hand when you pick this one up.
Due to a busy work schedule, I wasn’t able to get out to see Inside Out while it was in theaters, so I was excited when Disney sent me a copy to review. In typical Pixar fashion the movie has you question what you think of things – that you wouldn’t usually think about at all!
Inside Out tells the story of Riley, a young girl who’s growing up and being moved from her home in Minnesota to San Francisco. Riley is one of the main characters, but the majority of the characters are the feelings that control her – inside her head. Inside her brain or control station you will find Joy, Anger, Disgust, Sadness and Fear. They help form her memories, and help make her who she is.
For any child that has moved while they were young you can relate to the feelings that Riley is feeling, as well as the coming of age feelings. The feelings inside her brain help control her thoughts and actions, but have her best interest at heart. Inside Out wasn’t what I expected it would be, instead the movie was a lot deeper than most Pixar movies have gone in the past. There are times the movie will bring you to tears, and even the characters are easy to relate to since we all had some similar memories to what Riley did as a child.
Inside Out is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD and has a total run time of 120 minutes. The Blu-Ray set also includes a short Riley’s First Date as well as other special features.
