Honeywell EnergySmart 360 Surround Heater Review & Giveaway!

honeywell space heater review

Living in an older home has its advantages. We have beautiful original hardwood floors, architectural details and fun things like milk chutes. But having an old house also means original windows, and no insulation. I love working in my office, but it has not only a large directly in front of my desk but one on the side – I’m also convinced that the heat does not reach my office.  While it can be nice in the summer to have a cooler room, in cold Michigan winters I find myself freezing while I type.

Honeywell was nice enough to send me one of their EnergySmart 360 Surround Heater to use in my office and review.

My boyfriend has been resistant to having a space heater in the house due to fire risks. But as soon as the EnergySmart 360 Surround Heater arrived we both could quickly see that this would not be a concern. The EnergySmart has a Safety Shutoff function. While the heater is going you can hold onto the handle and tip it and it will turn itself off instantly. This is great with animals that run through the office or even small children!

On the back of the heater is a large toggle – you can flip it up to warm the whole room (360 degrees) or down to direct the heat towards you (180 degrees). When the heater is in the 180 degree mode you can even reach towards the back and feel that it was still cool. While it is in use you can even move it around with the Cool Touch Handle – you wont be burned adjusting its location.

Besides being warm while I work, I really like the EmergySmart Technology inside the Honeywell Heater. When you first turn on the heater you can select the temperature you want, the duration (1 hour to 8 hours) and the energy level. If you just need a little bit of heat you can set it to one of the lower energy temperatures and not worry about running your bill up.

One of my favorite things about the EnergySmart 360 Surround Heater is that I can set it up and turn it on while I fall asleep, and not have to worry that it would tip over or run all night. Instead it will automatically turn off after the timer is set, and would turn off if it were to get bumped into by one of the pets.

Honeywell is giving one of my readers an EnergySmart 360 Surround Heater  so they can stay warm while they work this winter! Be sure you read how to enter below!

  1. The shut off feature is really nice no worries if it gets knocked over. And it has a timer on it so if you forget about it it will just shut off.

  2. I love love LOVE that it turns off if bumped over!! I have pets and foster and you just never know….so I would love to be able to turn it on and not worry about a possible fire.

  3. The safety features!!! This would be AWESOME for the kids play area in the basement! 🙂 Thanks for the chance. 🙂 Have a wonderful day!

  4. It sounds warm and safe I have an old house built 1924 and you’ll right. Thin windows (I have storm windows) still use plastics on the inside of the windows.still cold. This heater would be nice. Are they coostly and where do you buy one if you cant win? I use room grafters doesn’t always worried so good.

  5. I like that it has a timer on it so you don’t have to worry about it if you forget to turn it off and I like that it’s safe for kids and pets and I like that it can warm a whole room or just a little.

    • I love the compact size combined with the 360 heating feature! We Texas folk are freezing our tootkas off in Ohio this winter. This would be my new favorite thing if we won!

  6. My favorite feature is The EnergySmart has a Safety Shutoff function for safety. I love this and can relate to your story as I was born and raised in Michigan all my life so understand the cold temps. I have been in Georgia the past 8-9 years now and would like to win for my daughter who is always cold like I am and her office gets very cold as well.

  7. I like the temperature selection, to let me have a lot of heat, and for how long I want the heater to be on! Great product!

  8. I love a few different features you stated. The fact that you can turn it on and fall asleep without fear is wonderful peace of mind. I have an old home as well but with no heat in the partialy finished basement, it makes for some cold sleepless nights. I do have a heater there now but it certainly does not leave me with the most comfortable feeling. I LOVE the fact that if the heater is knocked over it will automaticly shut off. With pets and small children, it is just another safety feature that is needed. This should be a mandatory feature on ALL heaters in my opinion. I would love the chance to try this in my home. The feeling of peace of mind and safety is priceless.

  9. My daughter needs a heater like this. She lives in an old house like yours and has a Great Dane. The shut off feature is a must for peace of mind.

  10. I like the fact that it automatically turns off after the timer is set, and would turn off if it were to get bumped into

  11. I LIKE THE FACT THAT—- On the back of the heater is a large toggle – you can flip it up to warm the whole room (360 degrees) or down to direct the heat towards you (180 degrees).

  12. I really like the auto turn off—Most space heaters scare me from a very bad experience– but this seems safer than most–thanks for the review– I am going to be looking at having one of these if they are more safe

  13. I like two features: large toggle – you can flip it up to warm the whole room (360 degrees) or down to direct the heat towards you (180 degrees). and that you can turn it on for 1 hour or 8.

  14. I like the rotate and safety falling over feature. Right now we are using 2 electric heaters that do not oscillate and the room never seems to fully heat up

  15. Would be perfect here in Galveston tx where we don’t need to run the furnace all the time but a heater like that would be wonderful and safe.

  16. the safety features for sure are awesome love that fact..would be great to have i have two big picture windows in my living room and it’s always cooler in there then in the rest of the house. there’s also 2 smaller windows in that room 🙁 .. also would be GREAT in my travel trailer in the spring and fall ..

  17. I love that if it get’s tipped over it shuts off I have little one’s and pet’s and I am sure at some point it would.

  18. I love its shut off, temp setting, and timer features. This sounds like a great little heater to have in my kitchen!! The heat does not come out here and its where I use my computer. I have 3 boys that are always running threw the house and knocking into things. This would be great to have!
