Holidate- Netflix
This has quickly become a yearly watch for the holiday season – and while Holiday starts and ends at Christmas, it covers every major holiday in between so it can be watched year round. Cussing, some crude and gross scenes, it’s not the sappy holiday romance you’re used to.
Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.
Bad Mom’s Christmas – Netflix
While A Bad Moms Christmas doesn’t seem like a romance off the top, there are two love stories running through the film, if we don’t even look at Amy’s parents. It’s fun, crude at points and definitely not going going to be on the Hallmark Channel anytime soon!
Under-appreciated and overburdened moms Amy, Kiki and Carla rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. As if creating the perfect holiday for their families isn’t hard enough, they’ll have to do it while hosting and entertaining their own respective mothers when they come to visit.

Happiest Season – Hulu
Happiest Season is a more modern take on romance and the holiday season. It’s actually a beautiful love story, but it’s one that doesn’t follow the normal tropes and paths you’d expect at the holidays. You still may need tissues, but Happiest Season should definitely be on your to-watch list.

Bridget Jones’s Diary – Pluto
This one still holds true even after 20 years. It focuses on the love and trials in your 30s and some of the missteps along the way. Again, it starts and ends at Christmas, so it clearly qualifies, but there’s definitely some goofiness along the way.
At the start of the New Year, 32-year-old Bridget (Renée Zellweger) decides it’s time to take control of her life — and start keeping a diary. Now, the most provocative, erotic and hysterical book on her bedside table is the one she’s writing.
