We all celebrate the holidays differently, but no matter what it’s about spending time with family. But the modern family is complicated and the dynamics can be messy, especially at the holidays. But Daddy’s Home 2 gives us a way to laugh at some of these family situations through over the top moments that you just hope wont be happening at your holiday celebrations this year.
Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are back as co-dad’s to a blended family in this sequel to the 2015 film. But this time their dad’s are involved too. With much different parenting methods, the dads and granddads are put against each other as one key element instigates to cause more issues. With physical comedy (on the part of Ferrell of course), funny family moments you can relate to with children, and even a moment that all the men bond over.
Overall the movie is good for a laugh, and is good for a night out. It’s a fun movie to add to the holiday round up and has a pretty decent soundtrack. Daddy’s Home 2 is rated PG-13 due to some cursing and some potentially violent scenes. But even with that in mind, the movie will make you laugh at the weird family dynamics. It even sets it up easily for a possibly third movie in the end.
