We’ve talked a lot about great wine accessories this holiday season, but not everyone is a wine drinker. Actually, while wine is popular there are probably a lot more beer drinkers on a day to day basis. So while there have been great items to chill your wine, there are very few on the market for your beer. The same people who make the Corkcicle came up with a great solution for beer drinkers out there – the Chillsner!
This is one of the great present options you can find at Staples, and they sent us one to test out. Much like the Corkcicle, you put the Chillsner in your freezer before you are ready to have your first drink.

To use your Chillsner all you have to do is put it into a warm or room temperature beer. The Chillsner is made of metal, so once it’s chilled (4-6 hours) it will be really cold. If your beer is pre-chilled, you will notice that the temperature difference will the beer may over flow or even turn into a slush.
At the top of your Chillsner you will notice that it has some threading. Once it’s inserted in your bottle, these threads will hold the Chillsner into place. But unlike the Corkcicle, the Chillsner is made for one bottle use and to be drank through. The top is actually a metal mouth piece so it stays in the drink the whole time you’re enjoying your brew.

The only problem I had with the Chillsner is it wont fit in every beer bottle, but it fits standard sized bottles without a problem. If you get a microbrew or a non-standard beer you may not be able to get the Chillsner in it. But for that being the only issue I had with the Chillsner – I say that’s pretty minor.
A cold beer is great to enjoy any time of year, but I can’t wait to try this out during the summer when you crave a cold drink. It would fit in glass bottled drinks with tea and juice as well, so it’s going to be used a lot soon. You can find the Chillsner at Staples and online – it’ll be perfect to slip right into a stocking for your favorite beer drinker. You can even find them in a double pack or larger if you want to have several on hand for a party.
