Happy Valentine’s Day!

First, let me wish all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day. If you celebrate or not – you still deserve to hear it just once!

We’re not huge on Valentine’s Day in our house, and even less so on Sweetest Day in the fall. It’s mostly because we’ve had horrible experiences in the past nine years going out. The last time we went out for Valentine’s Day was almost

three years ago. I think we lost our minds, I’m not sure. But we thought we’d give it a try again. I had just gotten back in town from helping out family out of town for a week. We went out to dinner at one of our favorite haunts -everything was fine. But when we went to leave the car wouldn’t start – the battery had died. Did I mention I was on crutches with a sprained knee and there was ice everywhere?

So instead we stay in. We have gone back to doing to our tradition: making dinner and renting movies. It’s simple, it’s cheap and we haven’t had a bad experience doing it yet! Since Jason has work and school today I made our dinner last night – his favorite: Stuffed Shells, I will grab a movie while I’m out later too.

Presents – they’re not required. Remember the holiday is about the one you love and why you love them. It may be nice to get them something to express that love, but nothing is more important than you are to the situation.
