As the weather cools, all of our favorite fall activities start to open up again. From apple picking to cider mills and even haunted houses. And while there are a lot of different Halloween-themed activities, a lot aren’t for the whole family. Too many of the options out there are for teens and adults, and if you’re looking for something for the whole family at night, you just might be out of luck.
For its fourth year, Glenlore Trails has turned its manicured trail through the woods into an illuminated Halloween-themed walk for the whole family. This year’s theme is CarnEvil, so it does still have some scary elements to it. But there’s something that Glenlore Trails does that other fall venues don’t – they keep the scary to the sidelines – literally. Yes, you’ll go through an area with witches, spiders, evil clowns, skeletons, and ghosts – but they’re all along the sides of the path and nothing is jumping out to reach you or make you jump.
Guests can choose to interact with the displays at different points, and they even offer two mobile bars throughout for the adult crowd taking the walk through the woods. But in between the creepy characters in the woods, you’re greeted with fantastic light displays, walk through light tunnels, selfie opportunities, and a section that is full of disco balls and bubble machines you just may never want to leave.
CarnEvil name makes it sound a lot more sinister than it actually is, and what you end up with is a mile-long walk through the woods that is seemingly the perfect balance between scary and fun that kids of all ages will love. It’s a nice refreshing change on other evening fall activities and one that families are going to want to do over and over again.
