Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass brings together a movie so full of star power, the absolute unhinged movie that unfolds would be shocking if you don’t know that it comes from the same director that brought Wet Hot American Summer to theaters twenty five years ago.
Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass follows Gail Daughtry (Zoey Deutch), a small town girl who’s about to marry her high school sweet heart in the two weeks before the big day. When her fiance takes the Celebrity Sex Pass a little too literally, her perfect world she has built up in her mind starts to shatter. And with the help of her best friend, and new friends she meets along the way, Gail goes on a quest throughout Los Angeles to find Jon Hamm, her own celebrity sex pass and even the score.
The movie has a bit of a chaotic energy that is similar to the feeling of series like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and even Community, with antics that would never happen in the real world. But that doesn’t make the movie less enjoyable. Characters are over the top, there are cameos throughout the film that often break the fourth wall, and situations that are too over the top that it might make you question how that got added to the script. Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass seems like a bit of a fever dream at times, but one that will have you laughting throughout the whole movie.
A bit of escapism, a lot of laughs and a goofy movie that is perfect for checking out in theaters this summer. Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass is now playing at theaters near you.

Small town hairdresser Gail Daughtry is engaged to her devoted high school sweetheart, Tom. Her life takes a turn when a trip to a book signing leads to Tom meeting – and sleeping – with his “celebrity pass”. Reeling from the betrayal, Gail impulsively joins her friend Otto on a trip to Los Angeles, where a psychic convinces Gail that the only way to save her marriage is to “even the scales” with her own celebrity pass: Jon Hamm. Thus begins an epic journey through Tinseltown as Gail and Otto join forces with a talent agency assistant, a paparazzo, and actor John Slattery, all in the search for Hamm. Along the way, they collide with celebrities and are hunted by a group of Italian assassins as they get ever closer to finding the elusive star.
