There is a quote I love “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”. I don’t know who said the quote is attributed to, but it resonates with me, so much so it’s on my vision board. We all have something that pulls us in, that we love to do, that just by doing it makes us feel like we’re contributing to the world.
As we started the new year, I had a stumbling block. It wasn’t something in my control, and there are daily reminders of that still. But I’m working through each one of them and pushing forward trying to reach my own personal goals. But, if I didn’t have that fire burning deep in my soul I would most likely be lost, and probably depressed with the whole situation.
I think it took me a long time to figure out what exactly I wanted to be when I grew up. And every time I thought I had it figured out, life would jump out and start laughing at me as it threw a road block in the way. Each time I was blocked I redirected and found a new or different path. Knowing now what I do, I would have reacted differently along the way – but each time I was upset and often angry. But what I didn’t know at the time was it was redirecting me to my passion, to what ultimately does set my soul on fire.
If you don’t know where you’re heading, or what your path is yet – don’t worry you will find it. But when you do, work towards making that goal a reality. I’ve found that when you find your love, your passion, your calling – you work harder towards the end goal without really trying. You find that each step you take towards your goal helps reignite that fire inside you and that you are on the right path. You find parts of yourself you didn’t know existed, and you find your love for it growing even more.
So set out, find what sets your soul on fire and make it a reality.
