F Marry Kill Review

There is no doubt the current dating scene can be a dumpster fire. Just log onto any social media site and see the horror stories being told over and over again. From meeting the wrong person on this app, to weird expectations from another. And if we’re going to be honest, it’s always been a rough ride for women who are putting their own personal safety at risk every time they meet up with a man they barely know.

Playing right into those fears is a new dark comedy F Marry Kill, where a newly single thirty-something, Eva (Lucy Hale) is back on the dating scene at the same time a serial killer starts targeting women in the area who are using dating apps. Balancing dating three guys she hardly knows, hearing the clues from a local true crime podcast and her own paranoia, is Eva dating one of the killers?

F Marry Kill Review

While playing into real fears and paranoia that many women have while dating isn’t exactly funny, the movie plays it off as just a quirk of Eva being hyper vigilant. And at one point or another, every guy that Eva is dating not only fits the bill of being the serial killer, but also show significant other relationship red flags along the away.

Originally, Eva and her friends joked that she could play F Marry Kill with the three guys she’s dating, choosing one to be intimate with, one to marry and one to kill – but the game doesn’t look so funny as the murders keep happening and get a lot closer to Eva as she keeps dating.

F Marry Kill Review

The movie is quirky and fun, and takes a potentially serious topic and make light of it. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but at the same time is a quick 90 minutes that you can tune into and not have to worry about focusing on every detail. While the twist may be a bit predicable, the movie at least took the chance at being something unique from other thrillers we see on the market right now.

F Marry Kill will be released on digital and in select theaters on today.
