As the weather begins to warm up, we’re all getting ready to hit the road and head out to the beach. You can’t deny that the crashing waves, a little bit of sea salt and the sun on your skin doesn’t have it’s appeal. But traveling can be hard on you and your family, so our goal is always finding a place that can be our escape and a little bit of home for us during our stay.
On our recent trip to Cape Cod we were invited to stay at the Sandbars Inn in North Truro. The small hotel is in the bay area of the Cape and just a quick drive from the bustling activity in Provincetown. When you first arrive at the hotel, the quaint exterior hides what guests can expect inside – completely updated rooms with everything you need for an extended stay.
We were pleasantly surprised with each of the updates of the room, from brand new tile, a fresh design and beachy linens to our own private balcony. If the weather were a bit better during our stay, we would have ventured out to the private beach that includes a fire pit for guests just a step away from the hotel.
Our room had fresh flowers waiting for us, a large flat screen television, an incredible view, wi-fi and cabinets and a refrigerator that was ready for us to bring in our own meals or make them in our room. The space allows you to move in and make it your home away from home – all while keeping within your own budget if you choose to cook in the room. We loved the flexibility of the space, and the proximity the hotel had to activities.
Looking for something to do while in the area? Pattee Durkin, the general Manager and the friendly staff are great at giving advice on restaurants, local attractions (like National Parks or Lighthouses) or can even help you coordinate your own whale watching boat tour. Want to plan it on your own? You will find all of the information you need in your room waiting, from flyers to local restaurants, to directions to the nearest grocery store and the wifi password.
With a great location, amenities that make the space perfect for family vacations or a girl’s weekend away – the Sandbars Inn will become your go to home away for home on your next visit to Cape Cod. Located near rolling dunes, an active night life and more – you wont forget your stay here.
