Enjoy a Romantic Night at Home with a Trudeau Fondue Set

When you hear the word Fondue, you probably think of parties in the 70’s. Of our parents in brightly colored outfits and dipping fruit in cheese or chocolate. But in the past few years there has been a resurgence in home fondue parties and even fondue styled restaurants.

So with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, now is the time to start looking at a way to spoil yourself or your loved one and a Fondue set is just the treat to do it! Trudeau sent me their Catalina 3-in-1 Fondue Set to enjoy for our party -and we got all of the chocolate and strawberries ready for our guests to enjoy.

This isn’t your mom’s or grandma’s fondue set, instead it’s a a new style set that can go from the stove top to the burner with easy. With your Catalina Fondue set you have pretty much everything you need to get started. Inside your kit you have the earthenware pot sealed in white, a safety burner pot, a stand and 6 color coded fondue forks. The fondue pot is stove top safe, so you can actually use it to cook soup or start your chocolate in it and instantly transfer it to your burner to enjoy your fondue fresh and hot.

The only thing the set doesn’t comes with is the gel for the burner. You can order that online or find it at stores like Gordon’s food service. Just don’t use gel directly out of the canister – it means your fondue will get too hot and you will most likely burn your dip. Trust, me no one likes the taste of burning! Instead, spoon a little into your burner and use the burner that’s provided to make sure you wont burn anything.

But once your chocolate is melted or cheese is ready to go – all you have to do is provide the cheese, short breads or cookies and fruit for a good time. It’s a fun way to get your kids to eat their fruit and who doesn’t love chocolate on everything? Just be sure you use high quality ingredients when you are making your fondue dips. For our chocolate fondue recipe I used Lindt Chocolate and heavy cream and melted it together. Just add fruit for delicious. There are countless recipes out on the internet, and even a few included in your kit.

When you’re done, the pot is extremely easy to clean. Even if you do manage to burn a little in the bottom it comes off easy, and washes by hand quickly.
