Playing games with Goonie is something we always like to do. Not only are they fun, but they can help him learn strategy and it can be great for bonding as well. We love when new games come out, and he can play them and let us know what he really thinks of them. PlaSmart sent him a new game called Drop Shot to play, and it’s not only fun but something he can learn how to use strategy with.
Drop Shot is for ages 6 and up, because of some of the smaller pieces (Dice, balls etc). But it isn’t too old for Goonie, who is 4 1/2, this is a personal decision and we didn’t think the game was too old. It is for 2 – 4 players, so it wont be one that your little ones can play alone.
To play, it’s as simple as choosing your marble color and rolling the die. You can move up, down or right and left the amount of spaces you roll – but cannot move diagonally. If you can’t move in one direction the amount of spaces you roll you will lose a turn. Your goal, to reach the top of ramp – but what’s out! At any point your player could be knocked out by the Drop Shot coming down from above! (Think Plunko).
Drop Shot is a simple game, but with only being able to move in one direction at a time, and the impending drop ball it could get complicated really fast. We had a lot of fun playing Drop Shot, and it had an added bonus for me. Everything packs neatly back in it’s box! To assemble the game you just slide the ramp into the back and it holds it together, and when you’re done – just take it apart. There aren’t any sharp edges or tools needed to put it together, and it will stack nicely with the other board games.
