Probably some time over the last year, you’ve made banana bread. But there was a renewed interest in the sweet bread when the new Croods came out. We all wanted that Bronana bread inspired by the film, and were tempted to make some ourselves.
Now with Croods: A New Age available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital, we decided we need to finally make our own banana bread. This is actually a double chocolate swirl bread, which brings in a hint of banana but of course a bit of chocolate goodness for you to enjoy as well! It’s super easy to make, and of course gluten free as well!
Ingredients:
- 3 very ripe Bananas peel and mashed
- 1/3 cup unsalted Butter melted
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 large Egg beaten
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour Mixture
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
- 2 Tbs Cocoa Powder
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees, and prepare a loaf pan and set aside
- In a medium mixing bowl, smash your bananas until smooth. Set aside
- In your stand mixer, mix together your melted butter and your brown sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add in your egg and mix together until it starts to come together.
- Slowly add in your flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder and mix until combined.
- Add in the mashed bananas and scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add in your chocolate chips and quickly stir them all together.
- Pour 2/3 of your bread mixture into your prepared pan.
- Mix in the cocoa powder to the remaining 1/3 of your batter. Spoon the mixture on the batter in the pan in small blobs, and using a knife running back and forth, swirl it into the bread mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan, and move to a cooling rack until completely cooled.
