Creatives and writers always have unique ideas, but seeing them come to life is another story all together. When it comes to having your story filmed or brought to the screen – it seems that’s another hurdle most people have to battle. But thanks to Disney, smaller creators are getting the chance to see their stories made and brought to a wider audience with Launchpad.

Launchpad brings to the screen short stories created by a group of six creators all with a similar theme in mind – Discover. But their approach to this theme and their contribution to it, including their own cultural backgrounds makes each one unique and different.
The stories are so different, it’s hard to see the underlying theme in these short stories until you take a step back. But each story is entertaining, engaging and will have you wanting more and knowing what happens next. And while each short film is under 20 minutes, you will find yourself thinking they are much longer with the depth of the storytelling. From characters who seem to feel out of place in their own society, to young teen vampires who just don’t seem to fit in at school – you will find these characters relatable and the stories pull you in.
Our hope is that many of the creators chosen for Launchpad are given a chance to create more and it opens the doors for them and other smaller creators as this program goes on.
