Some Marvel character’s stories are best served on the small screen, and one of those characters is Daredevil. The original Daredevil series set the character, portrayed by Charlie Cox up for success. Unfortunately, the series didn’t go on as long as fans would have wanted. Now, as the MCU moves towards the end of Phase Five, the character is back in a new series on Disney+.

Picking up almost where the original series left off, Matt Murdock has decided to hang up his cowl and weapons, and just be a lawyer. No longer fighting crime in his down time, he is determined to move on and have a calmer life, until someone he loves is killed. Trying to keep to his plan of no longer being a vigilante isn’t as easy as you would think as crime in Hell’s Kitchen and all through New York City is on the rise.

Daredevil: Born Again is a refreshing return to characters we know and love. The actors haven’t missed a beat, and the grittiness of the original series can still be felt in the relaunch. With old and new foes coming in and out of Murdock’s life, the character has to balance what he wants for his future and the city – to retire Daredevil or to once again pick up the proverbial sword and fight for what is right. With smart dialogue mixed with great fight and action scenes, this will be a show most people will wait for every week.

Much like the original Daredevil series that aired Netflix, the characters and the stories seem well suited for episodic adventures. And even though it’s been over seven years since the first Daredevil series ended, the actors bring the characters and Hells Kitchen back to the screen like they haven’t missed any time at all. The show is a hard not to binge watch every episode at once.

The first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are now available on Disney+ with the remaining seven coming in later weeks.
