Chocolate and Vodka Filled Strawberries

chocolate and vodka filled strawberries

Earlier this week Jason found an image floating around facebook of chocolate filled strawberries. I had seen the image earlier that day too – and we just had to try them! They seemed easy enough – and even better – they had alcohol mixed in the chocolate.. mmmm! Of course they can be made alcohol free so the whole family enjoys them!

broken shed vodka

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • 8 oz chocolate chips
  • 1 shotBroken Shed Vodka* Optional or alcohol of your choice!

Directions:
1. Cut the top off of your Strawberries and with a melon baller scoop out the middle. Be careful to not get too close to the edge – they can tear easily.

2. Wash your berries thoroughly and shake off any extra water.

3. In a double boiler melt your chocolate chips until smooth. You can also do this in the microwave if you know how to without burning the chocolate.

4. Mix in your vodka or alcohol of choice – or just skip this step if you’re doing it alcohol free. Stir until fully integrated.

5. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Take one of your strawberries and dip it into the chocolate and swirl it around. Make sure to get enough on that it’s about to drip off. Take the strawberry and put it on the sheet close to the edge and press down so it stands up.

6. Repeat dipping the strawberries and standing them up until all are dipped and standing on the parchment paper.

7. With your spoon, scoop up some of the remaining chocolate and pour it into the cavity you made in each strawberry. Repeat until all are full.

8. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until all chocolate is set. Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until use.
