We’ve all grown up knowing and celebrating Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, but we often forget to celebrate the Grandparents in our lives. They’re the makers of cookies, are great for late night snuggles, playing games and the occasional last minute baby sitter. And since 1978, we’ve had a national Grandparent’s Day. It may not be one that is regularly on your calendar – but if there are grandparents in your life that made your childhood extra special, or are doing so for your kids now – it may be time to change that!
Unlike moms and dads, most grandparents don’t need a lot of gifts or handmade items. They’ve had years of collecting those! Although they wouldn’t turn any of them down, you may want to surprise them with something that they can use. Gourmet Gift Baskets has several different gift basket options for Grandparent’s Day, and sent us one to check out. Like their other gift baskets, everything is packaged carefully inside and then wrapped with care. Since the Grandparent’s Day Gift Basket contains cheese and fresh fruit – this one had a quality seal with instructions on what to do with the food inside.
The gift basket is filled with fresh fruit, a few pieces of candy, Cabot Creamery cheese, a summer sausage, dried fruit, pretzels, crackers, peanuts and a snack mix. Little hints of sweet, salty and freshness to enjoy and try out. There wasn’t a huge amount of one thing in the basket, so it allows the recipient to enjoy it without worrying about getting 2 lbs of chocolate or something they can’t have. We love the variety that is inside the package, and found that the items lasted longer than any flowers would. But my favorite part about this gift basket is the basket itself – a traditional two handled basket that can be used over and over after the contents are gone.
Grandparent’s Day is September 13th, don’t forget to send your the Grandparents in your life a little surprise, and maybe give them a phone call too! Check out all of the gift basket options for Grandparent’s Day on Gourmet Gift Baskets’ Website.
