Cars Most Likely To Get Tickets Debunked

There are many well-known myths around which cars are more likely to get tickets. Some say red cars, others say fast cars and a few say expensive cares are the most likely to get tickets but that is not always true. In fact, studies have debunked this myth. One study in particular, Insurify, found that cars that received the most tickets are more affordable and known for their cheap speed.

Those cars include Hyundai Veloster, Subaru Impreza, Infiniti G37, Dodge Dart, Dodge Ram 2500, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Hyundai Genesis, Volkswagen GTI, Scion FR-S and Subaru WRX, Mercedes-Benz SL-class, Toyota Camry Solara, Scion TC, Hummer H2/H3, Scion XB, Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG, Acura Integra, Pontiac Grand Prix and Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG. Unless you are willing to hire a ticket bust, these cars are to be approached with caution before deciding to purchase one of these. The results of these cars are backed by data.

The Color Of The Car Makes Little Difference

Some studies have shown that the color of your car does not make an impact on the frequency of tickets. This debunks the myth that red cars get more tickets. They make up only 16 percent of tickets and 14 percent of cars on the road. On the other hand, solid gray cars get pulled over the most. Though they only make up six percent of cars total, they get 10 percent of tickets.

The only color that is considered safe are white and silver cars. White cars only account for 25 percent of the total car population, but they only get 19 percent of the tickets. Similarly, silver cars only account for 10 percent of the total car population and they only received five percent of the tickets.

Do Not Worry About Your Age

Another common myth is that the younger you are, the more likely you are will get a ticket. According to the data, women get tickets more than men although those who are middle-aged are the most ticketed. When it comes to driving a Mercedes, only 41 percent of men were ticketed while almost 60 percent of women were ticketed. Nonetheless, both drivers were on average 53 years old. Meanwhile, only 38 percent of men and 62 percent of women driving a Camry Solar received tickets and the average age is 50.

Focus On Being A Safe Driver

Despite all the statistics and data, the only way to decrease your chances of not receiving a ticket is to drive safely. Safer drivers are the people who will not get traffic tickets no matter what kind of car they drive. Pay attention to the speed limit, and always keep the traffic conditions in mind. If you are someone who frequently gets tickets, it may be your behavior and not your car. Keep in mind that only you put yourself in dangerous situations, not your car. Drive according to the traffic laws and you will decrease your chances of getting a ticket.
