Summer party season is here, and you know one of the easiest and best sides is chips and dip! You could go to the store and buy a tub of dip, or you can make your own. Check out this easy dip recipe below – and trust me the flavor wont disappoint!
Ingredients
- 2 Large Vidalia Onions
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Cups Sour Cream
- 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
- 1/4 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp salt
Directions
- Slice your onions in half and then slice them very thinly. You will need about 5 cups.
- In a large skillet heat up your oil. When your oil is hot add in your onions and cook until brown and caramelized, this will take about 20 minutes. Be careful to not burn them.
- After 20 minutes reduce your heat to medium low and add in 1 tablespoon of water. Stir well and remove to a small bowl. Place in the fridge for an hour.
- Place 1 table spoon aside and blend the remaining onions on pulse in the blender. Add in your sour cream, buttermilk, and salt and pulse until just combined.
- In a large serving bowl transfer your dip, add the reserved onions on top. Serve with vegetables, chips or flat bread.
