Best Destinations For An All American Road Trip

Best Destinations For An All American Road Trip

With lockdown restrictions beginning to ease you might be thinking about an overdue vacation, why not stay at home this year, and hit the road.

Many of us will have cancelled a vacation this year because of the Corona Crises and turned our attention to staying indoors. But now with lockdown restrictions lifting in many States, and in many parts of the world, we can permit ourselves to think about a long overdue vacation.

Traveling abroad however, is still quite uncertain. Every country has its own rules regarding corona restrictions and there aren’t as many flights to choose from. But that isn’t the only reason to consider staying on home soil this year. If you haven’t thought about a road trip vacation before, now is a great time.

In the current climate of uncertainty a road trip gives you control and predictability. You will definitely not get stranded or quarantined at some unknown connecting airport, and you get full autonomy to decide on a world-beating destination of your choice; kick-back, and take in the stunning views along the way. Not to mention a road trip vacation is massively cheaper than a destination holiday.

When setting out on the road consider a few things first to make your journey simpler and more pleasant. Use an RV for the best travelling experience, makevsure you have a GPS as well as Google maps, and don’t leave without a contact for a dui attorney, in case the unexpected should happen.

Below are some stand out road trip destinations and why you should check them out.

The Grand Canyon

Make your way to the Grand Canyon in Colorado for scenery of epic proportions. Millions of years of river erosion have carved out the massive chasm that people flock to see from all over the world. The area has some impressive wildlife too including bighorn sheep, coyotes, and bald eagles. Enjoy hiking and sightseeing at a UNESCO world heritage site, right on your doorstep.

Yosemite national park is another must see destination, especially for nature-loving Americans. It boasts towering waterfalls, millennia-old Sequoia trees, daunting cliff faces, and some of the most unique rock formations in the country. Famous landmarks include Half-Dome and El Capitan. It’s great for hikers and rock climbers, even experienced ones, as lessons are available. If you’re not the adventurous type there is still plenty to see that will make an impression.

San Francisco

The west coast offers some of the most stunning scenery to drive through on a road trip; end up in one of America’s most vibrant and culturally diverse cities. There is no shortage of things to do and see in San Francisco. It has world renowned sights, classic cuisine, and a booming night-life if that’s your thing. Sun yourself at the bay or enjoy views of the city from Twin Peaks; take a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, or a famous cable car ride. If you haven’t been to San Fran before it’s a must.
