Belle is a Beautiful Film with a Great Story

Belle Movie Review

Anime is truly an art of its own. And often, it’s overlooked because of the animation style for being too childish or “just another cartoon”. But one of the main reasons a lot of adults are drawn to the animation style is the stories and worlds the movies create.

Belle, is one of the latest anime movies to be released and is already winning over fans just on the design style alone. Anyone who watches Belle, like it or not, can’t say that the movie is anything but beautiful. From places and digital worlds being created with sweeping landscapes and details to enjoy – the animators took their time to completely build a world that fans are going to love.

Belle follows Suzu, a painfully shy girl who is working through her emotions after the death of her mother. Despite her desire to reach out, she has a hard time overcoming her shyness and grief in order to live the life she wants. But this isn’t a regular coming of age story or one that focuses on the grief aspect – while the death of her mother is there, the real journey begins when she joins “U” a social media app, where she can be who she wants to be through an avatar. Suzu may be struggling in her real life, but inside U, she’s who she truly wants to be.

There isn’t drama without a conflict, and of course, Belle has that as well. But deep down, the movie focuses on acceptance, self-love, healing, and even finding your own path. All of this is wrapped inside a beautifully animated world, that will captivate viewers.

Even if you’re not a huge anime fan, Belle is a movie that will entertain you. It will take the audience on an emotional ride wrapped in a beautiful package. Belle is now in theaters and on IMAX screens in both its original Japanese language and all-new English dubbed versions.
