Barbecue Party – Play with your Food! Review & Giveaway!

Barbecue Party Game
When was the last time you played with your food? I remember hearing my parents telling me to NOT do that – but now, we’ll be telling kids to play with their food! There is a great new game out that is fun for your kids, and can be pretty entertaining for you too!

Barbecue Party is a game that was just released in August by Asmodee Games. It takes the fun of grilling food to a whole new level!

Barbecue Party Game

Barbecue Party is for ages 4 and up, and welcomes them with a smiling grill is is full of mischief! The game comes with one grill with a remove-able grate, one set of tongs, 16 pieces of food (fruits, veggies and meats), and 18 cards.

Once the grill is set on set in position, it’s only a matter of time until it POPS. Players draw cards and use the set of tongs to either pick a piece of food off the grill (or put one on). One wrong move and the grill will launch off sending all of the food flying!

When the game first arrives, you do have to put the eyes on the food. This is definitely something a parent should do, not only because the stickers are small – but it can be a lot of fun. If you mix up a couple, it’s ok too :). The food pieces are all cute and funny once they’re assembled.

Everything in the game is large and easy to pick up with the tongs. If your little one is too small to maneuver tongs, the game even suggests them using their hands (it’s not a real grill after-all!).

Not only can Barbecue Party be a lot of fun for kids and the whole family, I like that it can help younger kids learn how to grab carefully. I also really like that the food pieces provided are mostly healthy food options and can teach kids a lot about healthy diets.

I did try to get a picture of the grill popping off and the food flying everywhere – and it flies everywhere – but it moves so quickly. The pieces are all large and easy to find to set it up again quickly. The game is a lot of fun and can be great at holiday parties as well as your next summer Barbecue!

  1. There’s something wonderful about the idea of ‘learning to grab carefully’. It makes perfect sense, of course, just made me smile! 🙂

  2. I love that it looks so real. My grand kids love to pretend to cook. This looks so much healthier than the ones they have that has hotdogs and burgers. I see veggies in this. Great idea…

  3. I like that the pieces are a good size, easy to find when it times to clean up! And it’s suitable for little hands

  4. My kids live to play games with my hubby and I! We have Family Game Time more than once a week!! So my favorite part is that it is something we can play together as a family, and I think this game looks very unique and different, so it looks like a lot of fun!

  5. I LOVE GAMES & anything that is fun that i can also play with my daughters. Its hard to play a boring game over & over and if a game is too difficult for them, that is no fun either! THANKS for the chance to WIN!

  6. I love the silly happy face, but this game reminds me of a “Jaws” game I had when I was little, and I always wanted my niece to have a game like that. This would be it. 🙂

  7. I like that the pieces are large and it’s a game my daughter could easily play. She would love the food flying off.
