Avengers Infinity War review

No spoilers in this review. If you are interested, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Except to say that if you leave the theater before the end credit scene you are not a true Marvel fan. The movie is a long one, two hours and twenty minutes, so go pee before hand. If you need snacks past the hour mark, get them. Best time to pee after the opening credits start? When the end credits start and hurry back.

Everyone was speculating who dies in this one. Capt., Iron Man, Piper. Unless you know the comic story, you are most likely going to be wrong and even then you might be surprised. All the major players are represented and get their time in the line light. There are some sad parts, some deaths, and some wicked battles, but this is war. Losses on all sides should be expected. And this is just part one. The trailers and promos are nothing to go off of. There are differences from the movie, so they may have been misleading on purpose or indications of last minute changes in the script.

Villains are usually nasty, especially the ones that are fighting for something, like universal genocide. Thanos is a big baddie that has a singular purpose. In all of it, you can actually feel sympathy for his character in what he does, as evil as it is.

Mistress Death does not make an appearance and may not in the sequel coming on 03-MAY-2018. While the comic books and movies do not need to mirror each other, I am looking forward to some massive battles in the next installment. One thing you should do is make sure you have all 18 of the previous marvel movies under your belt to get the most out of the war. At least be familiar with the characters. I would suggest having seen the firsts in each series at least. You will want to see Ragnarok beforehand.

I saw Infinity War at a press screening in standard 2D on a huge screen. While I did not see it in 3D, I did not see anything that would really be enhanced by the extra ticket price. But that is just my opinion. Do your best to avoid spoilers and you will have a better time. Surprises throughout and you will be ready for the second part coming mid next year. Happy viewing.

Addition to my shelf verdict: Yes
