The rumor mills are flying, and soon the truth will be revealed. There are so many theories about the upcoming release of Marvel’s latest release Avengers: Infinity War. Who is going to die? Will Thanos get all of the Infinity Stones? What will happen to our favorite characters? And where the heck is Hawkeye since he’s not on the posters? Before seeing the films, I heard a lot of different theories, some based on the original comic book stories. And everything I heard, the speculation – couldn’t hold a candle to what actually happens in this movie. Ok, so not all of your theories are wrong – so if you get some right, don’t come back and say I was wrong, but the bulk of speculation is wrong. A lot will be answered in the movies so be sure to check it out when it opens later this week.
Before you go into watch Infinity War be sure you’ve at least seen the first movies in the series that lead up to the movie. Infinity War includes a lot of our favorite characters and has a lot of moving parts. There isn’t really a lot of time for back story, so you need to know who is who and what they’re about you go into watch the movie. One of the biggest fears I had going into the movie was the amount of characters, locations and battles going on – it may get confusing. Thankfully, if you already know the characters well, the movie is set up beautifully so you won’t get lost once along the way.
Will Infinity War make Marvel fans happy? Absolutely! We’ve been waiting ten years for this movie as the other installments built up to it. There are bits of each character and story throughout, and call outs to the stories we’ve watched over and over again. It moves seamlessly between battles and stories that are happening at the same time. Some of wrongs of the past are made right. Do people die? Of course, they are at war to save the universe from Thanos. It’d be silly to think that everyone would come out unscathed. But remember this is part one, Marvel isn’t done with the story. And those Infinity Stones – they could change anything at any time.
If you’re basing any of your theories on the comic books, don’t rely completely on the story you know. While the Marvel canon is deep through the movies, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all bets are off and the story may be changed. But what can be said is that Marvel fans will love the movie, and it will spark new debates and theories until May 2019 when Avengers 4 is released.
As always, stay through the end of the credits like a good Marvel fan, it will not disappoint. And keep in mind, this is part 1 – so whatever happens in this movie isn’t 100% certain anyhow. So continue speculating, if you were right this time around – you may not be in the next movie and vice versa.
