In our home, salsa is a staple and something we always have on hand. It’s can be enjoyed with something as simple as corn chips, can top eggs in the morning or can be used as a key ingredient in many of our recipes. But finding a salsa we like isn’t as easy as just picking it up on the grocery store. So when Mrs. Renfro’s offered to send us some of their salsa we were excited to try out a homemade salsa from Texas tha that has been made the same way since 1940’s.
What makes Mrs. Renfro’s salsa different is not only the salsa gourmet, but it is gluten free and fat-free as well. You can get some of your daily Vitamin C with each serving, and if you don’t know what you want to do with your salsa – just check the jar for a recipe inspiration. The quality ingredients come through in every bite and you can choose your heat level and different flavors to have with each dish.
Mrs. Renfro’s sent us four jars of their award winning salsas to test out including their Garlic Salsa, Jalapeno Green Salsa, Smokey Roasted Salsa and Tequila Salsa. Each with a different heat level, and a mixture of flavors that make them delicious and great additions to our meals. With the holiday season coming at us, with hosting parties and making sure everyone has a something they like waiting for them. And with the additional recipe help from Renfro Foods, we can take one jar of salsa and transform our recipes into some that no one is expecting at this year’s holiday feast.
As a community minded company, in 2007, Renfro Foods launched its Pink Lid Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Six of its top-selling salsas – Mango Habanero, Green, Black Bean, Raspberry Chipotle, Habanero, and Peach – were all re-fitted with pink lids and new labels. A portion of the sales were given to organizations and institutions involved in cancer research. To date, the company has donated more than $100,000 to cancer research.
