The magic of Dr Seuss is something we all fall in love with when we are young kids. The rhyming stories, the crazy worlds and of course the slightly naughty characters like the Cat in the Hat. Their antics change the course of the children of the books, and even as adults we love the books, and generation after generation are read them at night before bed or some of the first books kids learn to read on their own.
This year we were sent a fun costume for Goonie to wear and we love it for so many reasons. They didn’t tell us what costume would be coming from Party City but when it showed up we instantly knew it would be a big hit. Party City sent us their Cat in the Hat costume, accessory kit and even a Thing 1 and Thing 2 headband.
The Cat in the Hat costume is one of the easiest costumes we’ve had in years. Your kid can wear their own pants with it, and the shirt is long sleeved and perfect for the cooler Halloweens we have in Michigan. The accessory kits come with another bow (although the shirt has one attached), the iconic hat and gloves with three fingers just like The Cat in the Hat has. No need for special shoes, or anything else. It’s easy to move in (you can even dab!) and a lot of fun no matter what the weather is. Because the outfit is so easy, it is one could even slide over sweaters or warmer clothes if the weather becomes unpredictable.
Probably one of our favorite things about the costume is it is one that can actually be worn at the school. Goonie’s school has a policy that for Halloween their costume can’t cover their face or have any face makeup. In the past we struggled adjusting costumes to fit that policy, but instead this year he can just go dressed in his full costume. The feel of the material is thick and more like clothing, so it will last more than just one season. It’s perfect for passing down to the next kids, or for dress up play. It will take a beating, and still look great after several wears and washes.
This year Party City has a large variety of Dr Seuss options, that are perfect for your little Thing 1 or Thing 2. And don’t worry, they have them in adult sizes so the whole family can enjoy the magic of Dr Seuss this Halloween!
