While most people are geeking out at the Chicago Auto Show at the new concept cars, and others at their dream car – I found several other reasons to geek out. Yes, this year at the Chicago Auto Show fandom is shining loud and proud. From retro style cars to the latest Marvel releases you can find a car to fan over. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the horse power and the drive experiences you can get at the auto show – but here are some of my favorite geeky finds at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show!
Nissan didn’t just make one car, but a whole world based around Star Wars: The Last Jedi. From At-Ats, the Millenium Falcon and even an X Wing. Check out this video to see BB8 in action in the top of the fighter!
Be sure to check out the rest of the Nissan booth to see it snow every 15 minutes and check out their exhibit for A Wrinkle in Time too – see which character you are!
The Jetsons, Batman and more!
The Klairmont Kollections museum has brought some of their collection to the show at the Chicago Auto Show. You can see the original 1960’s Bat Mobile – no promises you can sit inside though, as well as a car based on the Jetsons, an old Rolls Royce and others. Look but don’t touch at these gems!
Black Panther at Lexus
This is probably one of the hottest cars at the show, with claws on the mirrors Lexus highlighted one of their newest LC 500 in the upcoming movie. You can see it sporting the Black Panther mask and a seriously stunning paint job. Go around the back to see the Vibranium core that powers this one of a kind car.
Besides the retro cars you can find at the Klairmont Kollections display be on the lookout for some seriously amazing vintage cars on the show floor. From an old Chicago Police Car, to a 1950 Ford Truck and the original Subaru – car aficionados will love the variety of older cars throughout the show.
Tech is huge in the automotive industry of course, but be sure to swing by Ford to talk to Hank the Robot. He responds to you, takes your photo and loves being on camera!

No matter what your fandom is, there is plenty to geek out about at this year’s Chicago Auto Show.
