4 Cuisines That Are Perfect For Vegetarians/Vegans

Today, I’m going to share some love for all the vegetarians and vegans out there. When you stop eating meat/animal products, you close yourself off to many different foods. It’s hard to find things to eat when you’re used to consuming the same dishes over and over. However, some cuisines are much better than others. Below, I’ve listed four of the best cuisines for vegetarians/vegans:

Mexican

Mexican food is very popular amongst many vegetarians and vegans, largely because it includes a lot of beans. Beans are a fantastic protein source, so they replace chicken and beef in lots of dishes. It’s easy to see why this cuisine is favored in the non-meat-eating community with things like enchiladas, fajitas, burritos, and quesadillas.

Italian

You can’t go wrong with Italian cuisine as most of it is either vegetarian or vegan. Certainly, you can cook a vegan pasta sauce and whack it in the freezer to use whenever you need it. Plus, Italian cooking also uses lots of different beans and pulses – like chickpeas, borlotti beans, and lentils. If you’re vegetarian, Italian cuisine uses lots of mozzarella and other cheeses, which is also great.

Asian

I’ve pretty much grouped all the individual Asian cuisines under one heading here. Why? Well, I’m a cheat, and couldn’t pick a single cuisine from the rest. Japanese and Chinese foods are very vegetarian-friendly if you know where to look. Many fried rice recipes can be created without meat, and tofu is a big ingredient in Chinese cuisine. As for Japanese cooking, something like the vegetarian ramen found here hits the spot perfectly. There’s also vegan Katsu curry and so many other Japanese dishes that don’t contain meat. The sheer variety of spices and foods makes Asian cuisine one of the best around.

Indian

Indian food is perhaps the best suited for vegetarians and vegans. This is because a lot of people in India are vegetarian due to religious reasons. So many different curries and dals can be created with no meat. Indians like to use paneer cheese in a lot of curries as a meat substitute, as well as lentils and chickpeas. If you go to an Indian restaurant, you’ll be met with a plethora of vegetarian and vegan options to enjoy. Also, curry is one of the simplest things you can cook in bulk at home. So, you can cook lots of portions, then freeze them for later.

These four cuisines are definitely the best for people that don’t eat meat or animal products. Obviously, it’s easier for vegetarians as many dishes use cheese or eggs. However, vegans will find loads of great food options amongst these cuisines. So, the next time you’re going out for dinner, consider a restaurant from any of these cuisines. They’ll present the best options and open your mouth to a world of different flavors. Overall, this is a testament to the fact that you don’t need to eat meat to enjoy delicious food. All of the vegetarian/vegan dishes from these cuisines will pack a huge flavor punch!
