DEAR YOU

Following its North American premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival, the Chinese critical and box office hit DEAR YOU is set for a US and Canadian theatrical release on September 4 from leading international and indie film distributor Well Go USA Entertainment. A multi-generational story of love and loyalty, DEAR YOU is directed by Lan Hongchun and stars early-career actors Li Sitong, Wang Yantong, Wu Shaoqing, Zheng Runqi, and Wang Xiaohui.

A TALE OF TWO CITIES | Streaming on MGM+

MGM+ released the official trailer and key art for the four-part drama adaptation of Charles Dickens’ literary classic, A Tale Of Two Cities, starring Kit Harington (Industry, Game of Thrones), François Civil (Beating Hearts, The Three Musketeers) and Mirren Mack (Miss Austen, Hedda). The series is written by Daniel West (Gunpowder, Top Boy) and directed by Richard Clark (Outlander). The limited series will premiere on Sunday, September 6, followed by a weekly release on MGM+ in the US, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and LATAM

AGATHA CHRISTIE’S TOMMY & TUPPENCE | Streaming on Britbox

BritBox released the official trailer and key art for Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence, which premieres with two episodes September 15th in the U.S. and Canada. BritBox commissioned the series, a six-part adaptation of the Agatha Christie novels and short stories starring Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor, Still Up), Josh Dylan (Buccaneers, Mamma Mia 2) and Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter, the Paddington films). The series is produced by Lookout Point (Pride and Prejudice, Happy Valley), part of BBC Studios, and Agatha Christie Limited.

In the first contemporary English language television adaptation of Agatha Christie’s stories, Tommy and Tuppence are a detective duo for the ages. They fall in love, fall out of it, and tumble back in, all while solving some thrilling, entertaining mysteries along the way.

The cast also includes Nicholas Richardson (Wu-Tang: An American Saga, Younger), Charlie Condou (Dr. Who, Unforgotten), Callie Cooke (F1, Cheaters), and Chizzy Akudolu (Little Disasters, The Woman in the Wall).

The series is written by Phoebe Eclair-Powell (The Road Trip, Harm), who also executive produces, in her first drama series commission for television. AMERICAN HOSTAGE | Streaming with MGM+

MGM+ released the key art, official trailer and new images for American Hostage, a high-stakes anthology series, starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Jon Hamm. Co-created by Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers, the eight-episode series debuts Sunday, September 20 with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly episodes through the finale on Sunday, November 1 on MGM+. From Sony Pictures Television, American Hostage is set for a World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. 

Based on the acclaimed first season of the scripted podcast of the same name, American Hostage is a psychological thriller set in the 1970s that tells the harrowing true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program.

On July 27, 1986, Queen performed the largest-ever stadium concert at the Népstadion in Budpest in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans. The concert was part of the famed Magic Tour, which was the last time the band toured with lead singer Freddie Mercury. Now, this original concert film has been beautifully rescanned and remastered in 4K alongside a dynamic new audio mix, featuring many of Queen’s favorite tracks – “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “I Want to Break Free” and “We Are The Champions.” With three years to go before the fall of the Berlin Wall, this was the first western rock concert performed in a stadium behind the then iron curtain. It was of such significance to the Hungarian authorities and film industry that a group of the country’s top film cameramen and technicians were brought together to film it for posterity.

Apple TV announced that it has landed season one of “Small Prophets,” the acclaimed six-episode comedy from BAFTA Award-winning creator, writer and director Mackenzie Crook (“Detectorists”) that premiered on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two in the U.K. earlier this year. The series will premiere on Apple TV on October 7, 2026 excluding the U.K., where it will be available to Apple TV subscribers in 2027.

With recipe in hand, Michael sets out (albeit with some skepticism) to create homunculi – magical spirits that can predict the future – in the hope they have the answer to his burning question, “will I ever see Clea again?”

Michael gets help from his young coworker Kacey (Patel), an unlikely friendship that blossoms partly (but not wholly) through their mutual dislike of store manager Gordon (Mackenzie Crook). Their friendship adds to the frustration and intrigue of his nosy neighbors (Willan, Pointing) who are obsessed with trying to find out what the hell is going on in the garden shed.

LUDWIG | Season 2 Streaming on Britbox

BritBox debuted the official trailer for season two of Ludwig, featuring all new cast additions Mark Bonnar, Sian Clifford, Ben Ashenden and Rumi Sutton. The six-episode season premieres on BritBox in North America on October 13, with weekly episodes following until the finale on November 17. 

Picking up from the end of season one, master puzzle-setter John ‘Ludwig’ Taylor (David Mitchell) is now a Crime Scene Consultant, working alongside DCI Russell Carter (Dipo Ola), on ‘impossible’ crimes for the Cambridge Police Authority.  No longer having to masquerade as his brother, he’s openly more ‘Ludwig’ than ever – brilliant at solving puzzles but hopeless at everything else. Apple TV revealed a first-look at its upcoming heist drama “12 12 12,” starring and executive produced by Emmy Award nominee Anthony Mackie and Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards nominee Jamie Dornan. The thrilling, eight-episode original series will premiere globally on Friday, November 13, 2026 with the first two episodes, followed by one episode every Friday through December 25, 2026.

Each episode of “12 12 12” unfolds across three timelines of a heist: the 12 months of planning, the 12 hours of the heist, and the 12 days following the heist. The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Mackie) and an American career criminal (Dornan) who play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the center of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich.

In addition to Mackie and Dornan, the ensemble cast includes Jack Kesy (“12 Strong,” “Hellboy: The Crooked Man”), Agathe Rousselle (“Titane”), Sallie Harmsen (“Blade Runner 2049”), José Garcia (“The Ax,” “Now You See Me”) and Emmy Award nominee Kali Reis (“True Detective,” “Mercy”), among others.

Apple Original Films unveiled the teaser trailer and key art for “Being Heumann,” a powerful new feature that chronicles the “mother of the disability rights movement,” Judy Heumann, as she leads a group of young adults who come together to find their collective voice in a fight against discrimination. The film marks the second collaboration for Apple Original Films and writer/director Siân Heder, who directed the multi-Academy Award winning “CODA,” which made history as the first with a predominantly deaf cast to receive the Best Picture honor. “Being Heumann” will debut in select theaters November 6, 2026 and premiere globally on Apple TV Friday, November 13, 2026.

The teaser trailer is unveiled just ahead of the premiere of “Being Heumann” as the opening film of the Toronto International Film Festival, set to take place on September 10.

THE HOUSEMAID’S SECRET | Brittany Snow Joins The Cast

BRITTANY SNOW, star of Lionsgate Television’s hit series The Hunting Wives, has joined the cast of Lionsgate’s upcoming feature film The Housemaid’s Secret, opposite Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, and Paul Anthony Kelly.

Snow will play the role of Marybeth.

Paul Feig returns to direct the project, joined by the producers: Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman; Laura Fischer and Feig, who produce for Pretty Dangerous Pictures; and Sweeney, through her Honey Trap banner.

The film is the sequel to the $400-million-grossing blockbuster The Housemaid.

Michele Morrone will also return to star as Enzo, reprising his role from the first film.

The film will open on December 17, 2027 in wide release.

Tom Cruise will return as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle and will be joined by Anne Hathaway who is set to play a team owner and engineer in the upcoming follow-up to the groundbreaking 1990 film that revolutionized cinema. Cruise will star and produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. Jonathan Levine is set to direct from a script by Will Staples.
