Ozeri Artesio Soft Touch Electric Pepper Mill and Grinder

I love cooking with fresh spices, but some aren’t the easiest to use fresh. A couple years back I was trying to make a peppercorn sauce to go with our dinner, but couldn’t find a way to crush them. My mortar and pestle didn’t seem to do the job. I tried to crush them with a rolling pin, and only ended up shooting them across the kitchen. While it can be quite funny – it’s not very good for recipes! Luckily, Ozeri sent me their Artesio Soft Touch Electric Pepper Mill and Grinder to review – so hopefully that will never be an issue again!

The Ozeri Artesio Soft Touch Electric Pepper Mill and Grinder comes in one piece but can be easily taken apart by twisting it into three separate pieces: The spice compartment, the battery compartment and the handle.

You can easily fill the spice compartment base with your own pepper corns, salts or other spices. Then you simply twist on the battery compartment and the top handle and you’re good to go! You can have fresh spices in your recipes or on your food.

The Artesio runs on 4 AA batteries and is still very light once fully assembled.

To use the Artesio you simply hold the button and point it where you want your spices. When the button is depressed the bottom will light up where the ground pepper comes out. You can hear the grinding mechanism working and will quickly see some ground pepper.

There are several things I like about the Ozeri Artesio peppermill. The first is how easy it is to assemble and take apart. Other mills I have used in the past are not refillable or easy to take apart. I also like the fact that it just takes a push of a button to get fresh pepper or spices, you don’t have to crank or anything. This will be extremely useful if you’re in the middle of cooking and only have one hand available.

Another great feature is the adjustable ceramic grinder. You can set the size of your grinds quickly by twisting the shaft in the middle of the base. You can choose how coarse your grinds will be quickly and easily.

I noticed that after each grind there was only a little left in the base. I could quickly shake off the extra and stand the mill up without it leaving a mess on the counter.

My favorite feature about the Ozeri Artesio Soft Touch Pepper Mill is that it is so versatile. It isn’t just for pepper, and you can take any whole spice and get the grinds you need for your recipes. This is great for salt, whole cloves and more.
