iretreat 2014 recap

As I packed my bags this week for my trip to New York, I may have laughed a little – I just unpacked them. Last month I was hopping planes, running around and having a good item at iRetreat. The summer is always full of fun, travel and great conferences.

Hershey Martini

iRetreat is the rebrand of the Reviewers Retreat conference and this was my third year attending. Not only was it my first time flying to a conference – it was in Hershey Pennsylvania! I hadn’t been there in years, I think I was only 7 or 8 when we went when I was a kid. But who doesn’t like chocolate?

As always the conference was full of great classes, making great connections and some pretty powerful blogger friendships (more on that coming very, very soon I promise). Ideas were hatched and put into motion and great things are on the horizon.

Each night after the sessions we would meet at the Forebay – one of the restaurants inside the Hershey Lodge where we stayed. There’s chocolate everywhere there at the Lodge, you can even find kisses on the wall paper and on the sheets. Be sure to smell the shampoo and condition – it is Chocolate scented! But the best food, location and price wise was just upstairs. From creamy creme brulee, seafood salads and our favorites the chocolate martinis!

Best take-aways from the trip? Making new connections with great new friends, staying up all night laughing until we cried and of course chocolate! Can you believe we had a scavenger hunt inside Chocolate World? How great is that? Can’t wait until next year!

A huge shout out and thanks to the Sponsors of this year’s conference: Musselmans, Lucky Leaf, Bricks 4 Kidz, Rite Aid, Pampers, Jabra, Yes Video, Visit Harrisburg and Passion Roses
