The internet has become a bit more entertaining and enlightened when George Takei launched his Facebook page. He’s one of the few celebrities we follow online because of not only his hilarious memes but also the active voice he gives to important topics. This year BigMouth Inc. had come up with some fun and affordable gift options for the fans of George Takei – the Talking pen and the Ask the Wise George Takei fortune telling button. Both actually have George Takei’s voice but of course are taken very light heartedly as you would expect.
BigMouth Inc. sent us both the George Takei Talking Pen and the Ask the Wise George Takei Fortune Telling Button to check out as gift options, and really they’re great for gag gifts or stocking stuffers. The pen is a bit bulky, but works on a standard ink refill so you keep George talking and writing for years to come. The pen is a simple twist pen at the end, and when you click the button the top it says his signature “Oh My”. The bulky size makes it easy to hold onto, but wouldn’t be my first choice if I had a lot to write. Unfortunately, all the pen says is the one line – but that’s it’s perfect if you like hearing his signature line over and over again.
While the pen is a lot of fun, the Ask the Wise George Takei Fortune Telling Button makes us laugh each time. The fortune telling button has 20 different phrases and can be expect as responses for all of your questions. Think of this really as a Magic 8 ball with a bit of crude humor and sass. You’re never quite sure what the button is going to say, but it does it with clear sound and loudly. It is really easy to accidentally hit the button, so you have to be a bit careful when you’re playing with it. But find very different answers to your every day problems inside the wise wisdom programmed inside.
Both the George Takei Talking Pen and the Ask the Wise George Takei Fortune Telling Button are affordable gift options and great if have a fan of Star Trek on your list.
