The weekends are made for relaxing and spending time with friends and family. This past weekend we had a movie filled weekend with friends, and it started early with brunch with some of my closet friends. Movie time never starts too early, and we were happy to have brunch and a movie thanks to 20th Century Fox as we watched A United Kingdom.
With fresh popped popcorn in one hand and mimosas in another we watched the true love story of King Seretse Khama of Botswana as he fought for the love of his life, Ruth Williams Khama, in a world and a time that did not agree with his decisions. The movie was heart felt, and tugged at your heart strings. The period piece makes the movie not only interesting, but it’s amazing the relevance to current situations you still see in today’s society.
We had a great time with a low key brunch, a few drinks. Nothing is better than getting together with friends, except maybe tossing in brunch and a good show. A United Kingdom is a film that everyone should watch, and the fight for what is right and love is an amazing story.
A United Kingdom is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD – it’s a great one to watch with friends and the ones you love.

About A United Kingdom:
A United Kingdom is the period romance telling the true story of King Seretse Khama of Botswana, who fell in love with a white English woman during the 1940s, putting his country and rule in jeopardy to marry the woman he loved. The couple faced opposition from the British government, members of Seretse’s own family, and from a number of other powerful sources, who treated their love as a thereat to the status quo.
