For years our family has collected horses from Breyer. At one point of time or another one family member has owned a horse, and we have loved the beauty that the Breyer model horses embody. We have a large selection of their horses over the years, and were thrilled when they started to release toys and more kid friendly options. We were no longer worried about letting the younger ones play with the collectible models. Breyer recently released their My Dream Horse line, and send me one of their Chalkboard Horses to review.

The Breyer My Dream Horse Chalkboard Horse is modeled just as beautifully as their collectible horses. If you you don’t decorate the horse, it could easily sit in your collection. The Chalkboard Horse comes with four sticks of chalk and a sponge so you can redesign your horse at any point.

When I unboxed the Breyer My Dream Horse Chalkboard Horse both my sister and my aunt lit up like little kids. The horse lovers were instantly hooked! It would fit right in their collections and they wanted it. We had a lot of fun decorating the horse, and customizing him just how we’d like him. If we messed up it was a quick fix with the sponge. The only places that were a bit harder to draw around were some of the contours of its body. But since it’s a detailed model of a horse, you’d expect it to have some muscle contours.

This is a perfect gift for horse lovers, art lovers or someone who wants to add to their Breyer collection. Even if the Chalkboard Horse is part of Breyer’s toy line, it’s a beautiful addition to any of their collection.

  9. I have been in the model horse hobby for more years than I care to admit. 🙂 I used to have a collection of SM’s that was close to 1000. If I were to pick a new Breyer today, I would pick the new QH mold. I’m a sucker for a stock horse. 🙂

  47. I like molly the resting pinto. Id also love to get the paint your horse craft set. My girls would really get into it because its two things they like, horses and arts and crafts.

  49. Horses are a MUST HAVE on my daughters xmas list—winning this would be amazing. The Clysdale is her favorite then the Appoloosa.

  52. I’d love the Breyer Blossoms – January’s Carnation. So many other gorgeous ones I’d like but I think this one I would most want.
