There’s not many desserts that scream the holidays as much as apple pie. The dessert is so loved, it actually has become one of our staples year round nationally, and even one we’re known for. But the versatile apple can go beyond pie, and in a new Gibbs Smith cookbook How D’ya Like Them Apples, we can go beyond the crust and find ways to add apples to our dishes from breakfast, to dinner and beyond.
We were sent a copy of How D’ya Like Them Apples by Madge Baird to check out. While the book does go beyond the recipes we would consider traditional uses of apples, inside home cooks will find recipes for pies and tarts as well other popular deserts for the table.
The 75 recipes included in How D’ya Like Them Apples range from breakfast, chicken stuffed with apples, apple and lentil soup and even salads. The hard covered cook book is small but offers a wide variety of options for apple lovers to use in the kitchen. The recipes are easy to follow for any level of cook, and with beautiful pictures of the finished recipes, cooks and chefs will be tempted to try all of the recipes year round.
